Electricity - National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS)
Ofgem is gradually opening up electricity infrastructure contracting to competition. Working on the electricity network is potentially a highly dangerous activity, and the District Network Operators (DNOs - the former regional electricity companies) are rightly concerned that competition must not lead to a reduction in the quality of workmanship or an increase in the number of health and safety incidents.
To ensure that it complies with the stringent requirements demanded by Ofgem and the DNOs, Turriff has embarked on the formal process leading to NERS (National Electricity Registration Scheme) accreditation. NERS accreditation will enhance the range of electricity infrastructure services Turriff is able to offer, particularly with regard to multi-lay.
Turriff has already achieved GIRS (Gas Industry Registration Scheme) and WIRS (Water Industry Registration Scheme) accreditation.
