'Turriff is proud of its unique ability to service the needs of utility, developer, council, and private clients throughout Scotland'.
Turriff has been providing utility contracting services since 1987 and now has a workforce of over 400 utility operatives and support staff.
Initially trading as C A Duguid and Sons Ltd., one of Turriff's key strengths is the experience and loyalty of its workforce. The company's Chairman, Ellis Duguid, has worked in the company for over 25 years and continues to play a key role in maintaining quality, and health and safety standards.
'The training and development of staff is fundamental to the continued growth and diversification of Turriff Contractors.'
Turriff initially made its name in gas contracting. Over time, the company has built up a comprehensive portfolio of utility and civil engineering services and is now active in the water, electricity, and metering markets. More recently, after significant investment in training, plant and accreditations, Turriff has entered the multi-utility market.
In 2006, Underground Moling Services (UMS) became part of the Turriff Group adding a wide range of specialist drilling, moling and pipe bursting services.
In parallel with the growth in the range of services it offers, Turriff has gradually increased its geographic coverage, and broadened its client base. Key operations centres have been established in Aberdeen, Dundee and Falkirk.
Turriff is committed to quality, workforce development, responsible environmental practices, and health and safety. The company's accreditations include ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004, and OHSAS 18001. Turriff was one of the first companies in its sector to achieve the Investor in People (IIP) standard.
Because of its varied client base, Turriff has experience of most contract types including fixed price, open book and gainshare/painshare.
